Rhone & Provence

a tour of women-led wineries

Travel with us as we follow the Route de Soleil from Provence to the Spanish border near Perpignan. On this food and wine tour we’ll visit 8 women winemakers, all working small vineyards, and all making incredible wine. Along the way, we’ll dine among the sycamores, enjoy a traditional bouillabaisse next to the sea, visit the clay potters of Anduze, take hikes on mountain and sea trails, search markets for the ultimate tielle, and enjoy a baked good or twelve.

This trip is a little more for the hardcore wine lover, yet there will be plenty of free time to explore small villages, walk on the beach, do some shopping, or relax by the pool and read a book. Two optional baking classes will round out the fun.

The weather in late September should be beautiful, but it won’t hurt to have a rain jacket along too.

Where we'll go:

We'll follow the Route de Soleil from Provence to the Spanish border near Perpignan. Major cities will include Avignon and Narbonne. We'll hit eight wineries, hike up a river near Mt. Ventoux, and eat bouillabaisse in the seaside village of Sanary.

Who we'll meet:

Loads of amazing women winemakers, each with their own unique personality and perspective on the wine industry.

What we'll eat and drink:

Bouillabaisse washed down with Provençal rosé, squid and tomato tart, and a three-course meal at our very favorite French country restaurant (think Michelin stars without the sound of your wallet being shredded.) Add to that the lush, fragrant, and fabled wines Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas, and you've got yourself one heck of a culinary adventure.
